hey guys i need a gun for what exactly
Shooting up your school is all the rage in Colorado.
Lemme explain something to you kiddies ( for those of you who didn't know already, I am you grandaddy - but seriously, I'm a relic from this forum, and an active duty Air Force guy - back because Lee wrote me an email ,and I feel bad that I haven't been around):
The Beretta 92FS (aka the M9) is my qualification weapon, and I can say for certain, that accuracy wise, it is a fine weapon. I can hit a soda can-sized target at 50 yards, no problem.
The ammunition's stopping power is indeed a question of concern, BUT there's plenty of it available, worldwide. That was the reason for the changover. Was the switch from .45 ACP a good idea? Should we have stayed with the Colt 1911A1?That's totally up to debate.
The price of the gun is fine with me - brand new, they average~$550: I got a sweet deal on a used one from an old lady who's husband passed away, and gave a hardly fired one to me for $450 AND it included 2 preban 15-round magazine (which are worth over $50 a piece). If you got one for $529, more power to ya (but you'll only get 10-rounds mags with a new one).
Anywho, I have a Bereta 92FS, personally, and I use it to practice for my bi-annual qualification. Aside from being good to own for weapon currency, it's just plain fun to shoot.
I have (2) 15-round pre-ban mags for it, and it's a hoot to take out to the field.
Why should own this? Well, it is to keep me proficient in my profession of arms, but guess what? It's America. I can own a gun if I damn well please. I am a grown man, WELL over 21, so why not? If I want own a an M-16, I'll get one of those, too...oops, I already did.
Bushmaster E2S A3 20"(semi-auto only version of M-16 A3, with detachable carry handle/iron sites for placement of enhanced optics)
It ain't AirSoft - that's a 30-round pre-ban mag full of 5.56mm NATO standard whoopass:
good stuff EDD :D
looking fkn hard there Marshall, sup baby girl haven't seen you since back in teh otf days (my fault for not visiting here enough)
Much recoil on the M16?
I could never own a weapon for it's illegal to own a weapon of any kind over here, I can't even have a knife on me when I leave the house.
this country is retarded.
No way to defend against criminals who do walk around with uzi's and AK's over here...

Hey HoEr! Good seeing you here. I haven't been to the OTF since geez...I don't even remember. Good to know a lot of us leftovers know this place exists.
The recoil on that rifle is completely manageable. Bushmaster's version of the AR-15 (civilian designation for the M-16) is outstanding accuracywise:
That's a group fired with iron sites at 25 yards. The center-to-center variation is less than a dime diameter.
I did a rapid fire with the 30-round mag, and you couldn't even see down the shooting lane afterward! It was fun. Cleaning the rifle afterwards, however, was not. :D
Sucks that your country won't allow you to own firearms - the way this country is headed, that may soon be the case here as well. England is learning the hard way that banning guns from private, law-abiding citizens causes crime to dramatically increase. A shame some people choose to ignore that fact.

Holy crap man! that's fkn sweet! :D
There are private gunclubs over here, but for some reason a lot of them are full of racists (seriously) and even if you're a member of a club, it's still a big ass hassle to have the gun..
You have to take the shortest route possible from your house to the club (going as far as too draw you out a map you have to follow) if they stop you in the street and you have your gun with you (in it's case locked up and all) and you're off the route, off to jail you go...
I could have bought an Uzi in high school with 2 full clips for about 250 dollars (500 guilders at the time) and even though it was tempting at the time.. since it's illegal I wouldn't have known what to do with it.
I would have only had the two clips and nowhere to fire the thing, and well...if I could have fired it, it would have lasted about an hour before I'd be out of ammo forever D;
Another thing was that there was a big change that the uzi was used for some weird shit and this was their way to dump it (it was through a classmate of mine who knew some people that knew some people..)
looks like you're one hell of a marksman dude! good stuff!
Guns aren't the problem, stupid people are!
We need to send all the trigger happy idiots to Canada, they don't have enough crime ^_______^
I think this cartoon explains what it's like to blame guns for crime.
It also shows exactly how people get suckered into getting on the anti-gun bandwaggon. It's a helluva lot easier to sensationalize a shooting than it is to sensationalize a robbery that was deterred when someone used their gun is self-defense. Look at the stats: guns are used 3 times more in self-defense than in crimes. Look at countries like England - banned guns, and crime is on the rise. It sure is easy to rob someone when you KNOW they aren't armed. Hot robberies (burgluaries that occur while you are in your home) are particularly skyrocketting.
PEOPLE pull triggers in crimes, NOT the guns themselves.
I used think just like that when I was young: that guns were the root of the evil in our society. Then I got thinking. OJ didn't need a gun to commit the domestic Crime of the Century (wheter you believe he did it or not, I consider a dropped ball by the prosecution guilty enough). For that matter, I don't think gun control would've saved Julius Caeser. Hell, jack the ripper chose a knife, and there were plenty of guns available during the 1800's. Guns have been around for 500 years now, in some form or another. Crime has been around since the dawn of civilization.
I'm not trying to call anyone dumb, but people really need to think it out instead of following the cattle farmer that is the media. They present it the way that they want you to see it - that's the way that gets them easy ratings.
