hey some1 tell me if water cooled cases are good


cus i wanna custom cases that glows lool :o 3 6 1210 83-1016479913 62.45.85.43 1017083543 I now have a pentium II 233.. yeah yeah it sux.. but what i hear about AMD sounds good, so i would go for AMD

well i have to stick to my PIII 500 MHz here.......  8)


 


the only thing that keeps it running nowadays is 384 MB SDRAM, a GeForce II Ultra 64 MB DDR and win XP......


 


 


new games run so awfully slow.......

Only if you are into serious overclocking. All watercooling does it keep the heat down. If you are not going to overclock then dont get one.

Currently, AMD > Athlon, so I'd suggest you to go for an AthlonXP 2000+ (clocked at 1.7Ghz i think), which is in competition and up to par with the northbridge P4 2200Ghz.


 


They have very similar performance, but the Athlon costs 1/4th of the THAT P4's price.

Aren't they supposed to be quieter too? I suppose the water pumps make noise too, but I don't know if they are actually any quieter than fans.

In theory water pump is quieter than several case fans but again it depends on what one you buy. Some waterpump kits are silent and some are not.
