Sorry to hear about that Love.

Almost everyone has seperated parents in the US these days. It's shitty that parents don't take marriage as seriously as they used to, the people they're hurting the most is their kids. However, at this age it's not really about you anymore since you're all grown up. You should just want your parents to be happy, and if that requires them being seperated, well then maybe it's for the best.

Adopted kids just about always come from familes with abusive/drug backgrounds. It's really bad for them, and can make the lives worse for those who try to change their way of life. If Felix does stay with you, he will appreciate you one day. The next few years will most likely be the hardest time in his life. With pubery, growing responsibility, peer pressure, it will be a nightmare. However, kids as you know, do not stay like that forever. It wouldn't be unlikely for him to become your best friend by the time he's ready to leave home. How he ends up depends on you more than you may think.

Some kids would rather sit home and play video games rather than going to school. That's not ADD, everyone would rather be doing that. That's just an scapegoat for one's laziness. If he really can't concentrate on things for an extended amount of time, he may have ADD. It's easy to call psychological problems bullshit, and I don't blame you. It's not like taking a temperature, and there are no physical signs. While no one knows the exact causes of ADD, as with all psychological problems, there's no denying the medications used get results. You should get him on ritalin or something if it's a seriously problem. From what I hear it works wonders on kids. If you want to see him improve I see no harm in trying it. I have no idea what the situation is like in Sweden, but they hand it out like candy to kids here. I'm a psychology student by the way, so I have all this information I never get to use except when people bring this up. :)

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you and your family.
