basi9cally i need to get some hobbies that get me out meeting different people.  I plan to go back to school and study computers, and i also like art.  Ive seen some cute girls at a art school near me.  I hear cooking classes and other artistic things are good places.  The only place im meeting people is at work, and i hate it, not too much viriaty.  Im not a drinker, so bars are out of the question.  I am also looking to join computer or application user groups.

Why are you not a drinker?

If I was with a girl who was "perfect" in the sense that we had the same exact interests, I'd go batshit insane. I mean, that would probably be the end of my privacy and "my thing" if she was always there to game with me, to talk about computers, listen to my music, and take interest in the movies I like. I guess I can see how the idea would be appealing at first, but annoyance would set in soon. I'm not saying that one should aim for the opposite, but take this for example.

Me and a girl went to go see Kill Bill, and she had no idea what the hell that movie was about. She also has this thing against excessive violence. Movie ends, we walk out... "Oh my God! That was horrible!" "It was fun!" "I would have never gone if I knew what it was about!" "...It's called Kill Bill. What did you expect?"

We were conversing with eachother long after. During that entire time, we were both very interested in what the other had to say. More importantly, it never degraded into mere annoyance. It was actually kind of fun. Opposites attract? Possibly. All I know is that contrast can make things very interesting.

Can't stand the taste of what? Beer in general? Hard alcohol? If you're referring to pansy ass shit like Smirnoff Ice or Bailey's, then I'd understand.

Well ive only drank twice in my life. The first time I went to a party, and it was vodka with someother sweet drink. Not too bad. The 2nd time was after work, somthing callede a "Caddilac". i remember it had Jim Beam and someother stuff. I could only drink like 1/8th of it.

I think I shouyld re[hrase the question. I can't seem to find a girl who has my intrests, although I know ones are out there. I am a major computer/electronics geek, maybe too much. On my free time I like to design websites, play CS and other multiplayer games, build and mod computers. Mabye I need to expand on what I do and pick up a few more hobbies, because im thinking that what I do on my off time I will never meet a girl who is intrested. or meebe I should keep on going, and chill. Also things are going to be different now since I bought a car.(pics coming soon)

i know i'm going to be repeating certain things, but i didn't care to read all that since i don't need the advice

anyway, i saw something about going about your life as usual. that's a good thing to do. it seems like when you stop chasing it, that's when it happens. also, you will NOT find somebody with your exact same interests. in fact, my girlfriend and i get along better than anybody we've ever seen before... and we don't exactly have the same interests at all. also you're not going to find many girls who are into computer games and such. but i guess i'm not a good example, i've been pretty lucky to be blessed with such a great girlfriend

(after reading some otehr posts):

OH yeah you're not going to get very far if you are absolutely sheltered from the outside world. you need to get out and make a bunch of friends and such, i think. something like that. (did that sound right?) hit the bars, DON'T PLAY CS, CS IS FOR FAGGOTS AND FAGGOTS. THERE ARE ONLY TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE WHO PLAY CS AND BOTH TYPES INCLUDE BEING A FAGGOT
