Now I want to get a gun. Desert Eagle plz.
I just bought a Beretta model 92FS
If there were no guns there wouldn't be any gun violence. Why do people need 10 different kind of weapons to do the job of self-defense? The second amendment was passed to help people that lived in rural areas to defend themself from indian attacks, and to take back the country if it ever became dictatored with militias.
Jack the Ripper killed in silence, there were no silencers or compressors in the 1800s, also he cut up his victims, research him. A gun would take forever to do it.
That comic blames the media for everyone wanting the banning of guns? What media is this that has a liberal (who are more anti-gun than conservatives) biased. That CNS website looks pretty right-wing to me. Just because there is some guy shooting at cars on the highway merits news anyway, it is nothing new. It happens all the time. There is no biased toward anti-gun and pro-gun.
Every 20 seconds a handgun is manufactured in America; and
Every 120 seconds a person is shot.
In America 200,000 people are shot each year.
So, roughly 67,000 people are shot each from gun crime that wasn't in self-defense.
I don't know about you, but i've had two close friends die from irresponsible gun owners. One of them got shot in the back of his neck while playing the back yard, by a faggot who was shooting at a tree with his rifle, and it went through the fence and killed the boy. My other friend got shot by his friend when they were playing
with the pistol. Those are some pretty responsible gun owners to let their kid play with a loaded gun.
OMFG sup Marshall... I see you are not currently deployed. Nice M16 btw... I will have to get some pics of me with my weapon. I can't wait till Dec, with everyone deployed my unit is getting 20 of the XM-8 for fielding. Since I am the Battalions Weapons Master I have already been guaranteed one. WOOHOOO
BTW I didnt see if you answered the question about the kick of either weapon... they have no kick to speak of.
^----^ This is a scan from the Army Times of the variants. I have the issue and will dig it up to get some more scans.

Hey Kindred! Yeah, been busy like you wouldn't believe, and I have to a simulator session in a little bit, so I'm gonna make this quick.
My deployment cycle doesn't come up for a couple of months.
As for the M-16, the recoil is defintely nothing much to speak of, as the force of the rifle tensds to go straight back.
XM-8: are you shooting the version with the 6.8mm round or the 5.56mm?
It should be very interesting to say the least. A lot of the old schoolers do not want the XM-8 brought into to service, but it's the same argument that was used when the M-1 was on the way out, as with the M-14. People just don't like change.

As for guns: again, England's Utopian idea of a society without guns is the litmus test. They have banned all private gun ownership EXCEPT for shooting club sports like rifle teams, and even then it's highly regulated.
What's the case now? They are having to arm their police with protective vests that are both knifeproof AND bulletproof! They will NEVER be able to stop gus from getting into the country, and the criminals that can't get them are coming at the cops and victims with knives. Guns are like nuclear weapons: once the cat is out of the bag, there's no putting it back. You ban guns, and the rest of the world will still have them. Why do you think we will never totally get rid of our nuclear weapons. Well, not never. If something more lethal comes along, then we may switch. The world is a constant struggle to stay on top, and it's no different for criminals. They will always seek the next common denominator, and become skilled and proficient at using it to commit crimes, whether it be a gun, a knife, a stick, or a rock.
Take a look at another article. This was the first thing that came up on a google search with keywords "English police knife-proof vest." Ironically, it's a Japanese article. So here's example country #2:

What you stated about your friends is indeed tragic, and it indicates more of the real probelm - lack of parenting and guidance in this country. People are content on letting the TV do the parenting, and we are growing up with kids who think they know there world and social values based on Friends, the Fast and the Furious, and RoboCop - not their parents upbringing.
I remember cub scouts as a kid, and the .22 rifle shoot they take you on once a year. They preached safety before anything else, and there was never a single incident. Even going just once a year, those rules stayed with me for life. I have seen kids as young as six demonstrate better gun safety than people my own age, because the people my own age grew up scared of guns, and never wanted to be near them until now.
The military used to sell you your own service rifle at a good price when you left the service, but paranoia over gun violence caused that to stop. Why is it that countries like Canada can have over 75% of households own guns, and yet they have a fraction of the gun violence and accidents of this country? It's a statement about the mindset. People up there are raised with guns from the time they are kids, and are taught to respect them from that young age. They are not banned symbols of power that people strive to attain for bragging rights, they are simply a way of life. People don't fear them - they learn how to use them safely. They own as many guns as they want for hunting, self-defense, and fun and still gun problems are nowhere near as bad as here.
Sorry to ramble, but I know where you're coming from gl0rby. I promise you that I used to see it the same way as you. As I've been around the country, and seen other parts of the world, I have also seen the gross variation in the perception of firearm ownership in this country. Places where eveyone owns guns, they are very few problems with them. Urban areas, where people fear them, and think they should be banned? Criminals hored them, law-abiding citizens fear them, and crime is on the rise. Ask a convicted felon who's now locked up - "what's the one thing you feared most when you robbed someone?" Most of the time they will tell you that it was the fear of that person being armed.
Guns aren't the problem, stupid people are!
We need to send all the trigger happy idiots to Canada, they don't have enough crime ^_______^
I think this cartoon explains what it's like to blame guns for crime.
It also shows exactly how people get suckered into getting on the anti-gun bandwaggon. It's a helluva lot easier to sensationalize a shooting than it is to sensationalize a robbery that was deterred when someone used their gun is self-defense. Look at the stats: guns are used 3 times more in self-defense than in crimes. Look at countries like England - banned guns, and crime is on the rise. It sure is easy to rob someone when you KNOW they aren't armed. Hot robberies (burgluaries that occur while you are in your home) are particularly skyrocketting.
PEOPLE pull triggers in crimes, NOT the guns themselves.
I used think just like that when I was young: that guns were the root of the evil in our society. Then I got thinking. OJ didn't need a gun to commit the domestic Crime of the Century (wheter you believe he did it or not, I consider a dropped ball by the prosecution guilty enough). For that matter, I don't think gun control would've saved Julius Caeser. Hell, jack the ripper chose a knife, and there were plenty of guns available during the 1800's. Guns have been around for 500 years now, in some form or another. Crime has been around since the dawn of civilization.
I'm not trying to call anyone dumb, but people really need to think it out instead of following the cattle farmer that is the media. They present it the way that they want you to see it - that's the way that gets them easy ratings.
I was agreeing dude :D
I don't own a gun or know jack shit about them, but blaming guns is like blaming food for my fat ass ;0

I knew you were agreeing buddy - I was expanding on your point
Granted they are rather accurate... but that is on account of them only firing a 9mm round (Stopping power of a gnat kthx). Since handguns are meant for CQB them a .45 or .40 would be much more efficient. A .45 has awesome stopping power and a range of about 50 to 75 meters depending on the make and manufacturing of the hand gun. Most 9mm will shoot to 100 meters but that is most likely not even going to break the skin or get good penetration. "Gangstas" might love berettas in the movies and on the streets, but that is because of there mass production and extremely inexpensive price. I seriously think you got ripped paying more than 350 for a beretta. As fars best handguns on the market I would have to say that Heckler & Koch make the most reliable and most accurate handguns.
P.S. If any of you guys get a Desert Eagle in any caliber I hope you dont plan on actually shooting it or shooting it often. It is heavy as fuck, hence the name "Hand Cannon" and in untrained or arms with a lack of hardcore muslce will be highly inaccurate and very dangerous to those around you and to yourself.
Bullettooth tony didnt flinch.
