I hate getting phone calls asking me to participate in some kind of market survey; they put me in a horrible position. I would love to tell off the company, but I'm usually talking to some sweet college girl who's just trying to make a living. Maybe she's a single mother or supporting her younger siblings while getting an education. I don't want to make her life any harder! Please help me with my moral dilemna.

I usually chat them up and agree to sign up and just as they are expecting my credit card info I disconnect. When they reconnect I let my parents pick up or I play dumb. It is lols, especially with the police ones (usually scams) because they get MAD!!

I mumble something along the lines of "Sorry I'm busy" or "No, not interested" and hang up before they get a chance to reply.

if you live in the us you can put your phone number on the national do not call list and you'll never get them
usually i just say i'm not interested, they rebut, and i repeat myself and usually they hang up.

I haven't recieved such a call in years, but when I do I just say "No, sorry" and hang up. They're getting paid by the hour, so whether you talk to them or not they're still getting paid. I'm sure they have an endless list of people to call.
