I just saw on the news that a man has confessed doing the Bali bombings that killed almost 200 people, 50 of which were from my state.
I hate this fucking pricks - they are brainwashed to believe that these hideous acts they commit will send them to a better place in the afterlife, and they then declare that any charge/crime against them is an attack on all islamic people around the world. The gutless wanks hold a war against innocent people and furthermore do this when and where you least expect it. Then they have the audacity to say that any attack on them is an attack on all islamic people.
On the majority, do the islamic people around the world buy their crap? Will an islamic person stick up for another islamic person just for the sake of them having the same religion. If it were a bunch of aussies that crashed those planes into the WTC i would tell them to burn in hell. I have no idea what the ordinary islam thinks on the subject but i would be interested to know.
And one more thing.. how the fuck can someone be so obsessed and have their life dominated by their religion? Shit im not exactly sure what religion i am. Does it matter? When was the last time you heard something good in the news on the subject of religion? If it isnt Catholic priests raping some poor kid, its islamic extremist dickwads causing terror. The war in Northern Ireland is another example.
At least it seems in the latest attack that the people responsible will all be caught. About a week ago they tracked down the owner of the van that blew up, when someone found part of a chassis that had the serial number on it. Now they have this other man who confesses to being involved.
Two words: capital punishement.

muslims are awsome people. it's like most things, it takes like 0.003% of the muslim population doing a few fucked up things to unfortunately create a really negative stereotype about such a wonderful culture. i'm positive they don't condone such acts of hate, death and destruction. what religion teaches this? it's just the very extremeties that cause the problems.
as for the bali bombing, the indonesian government is under so much pressure to come up with the culprits that i wouldn't be at all suprised if it were a forced confession. the police over there are generally corrupt and nasty pieces of work, and will blackmail, torture, well practically anything to get to what they want to hear. even if you didn't do it, there's only so much hell a normal person can take before just thinking "fuck it, it's the only way". the bali attacks were attrocious.
not sure if you saw my post a while back, but one of my best mates was there, and lucky came back. good story, but for all the wrong reasons :/
peace!

Para 1: Agreed. Same thing happens with most religions. Jews, Atheists, Wicans. Most products of the media (i.e. viewers with an thirst for information, as most people on earth were after 11 Sept) will believe a lot of what is said. Tabloids and tv news drama queens can and do manipulate peoples thinking, be it intentional or not. Thus, Osama Bin Ladens affiliation with Islam resulted in all muslims being branded as they are.
Para 2: Agreed. It wouldnt suprise me if the US is doing the same thing at Guantanamo Bay.

This sort of thing is not new. If I remember correctly, the church would burn so-called witches (duh) at the stake and do it in the name of God. A similar thing is happening now, it's really nothing new, except the fact that theyre muslims.
It's not a religion issue, but more of a "misguidance by a pious figure who uses religion to get what he wants" kind of issue. It's a people issue more than anything. These power-hungry genghis khan types are who add fuel to the fire. They use the religion to bring themselves to power by giving the people false hope. They are cunning cunting manipulative figures.
my 2cents.

have you seen the footage of the bloke in custody. He was laughing and smiling - hardly the emotions of someone who has undergone a strenuous interrogation and been brutally forced to admit to the bombings.

maybe he was beat and tortured to the point of insanity, which is why he was laughing and smiling.

Many nonindustrialized countries in the middle east don't have international news, or radios, or tvs. They grow up from hearsay and such, just like it used to be in the US/everywhere. Everyone would believe whatever was told to them.
Many many people have their lives commandered by religion. There are plenty of religious fanatics in the US. Circa the censorship trials in the 80's. OMG DEVIL!! DEVIL MUSIC I TELL YOU! The only difference is that they are common in the US, and islams aren't.
If a man has a shotgun to your face, and tells you to laugh and say you bombed something after beating the fuck out of you and torturing you, you would. I know I would.
Capital punishment is never the way to go. Too many innocents are killed, and for the truly evil, death is not bad enough for them.

well being a muslim myself I hate being in the position that these terrorist assholes put me in, and make me and my religion which preeches peace and loving between all of mankind look so bad. Id like to thank all you guys for being understanding to muslims that are in my position.
And veg, i wouldnt defend anyone simply because they are my religion, infact ill be more pissed that they disgraced my religion so bad and want them to go down even harder.
I guess u get fanatics in every religion, my personal belief is to never force your beleifs upon others, if you have any questions about islam i am happy to answer them to the best of my abilities. I dont follow it strictly, but more base my ideals and morals upon it.
