i just use a 'paid' for version of StyleXP....

i just looked at hoverdesk...it does look alright, but it's too "busy" and too much eye candy, i like the plain one icon on my desktop normal look....

hover desk gives me a headache

I use a "paid" version of StylesXP as well. What I like about styles xp is it dosn't mess much with the system files, unllike the other shells. It basically just hax the windows style *.dlls to allow it to use non-micro$oftvisual styles. The only resources that are used when you run stylesXP is the theme's graphics being loaded into memory.

I am however interested in getting to know about Litestep, the old-skool windows shell replacement. From what I've read it was the first shell replacement ever. It's just that it requires you to get dirty with *.txt files and I don't have the patience for it.
