Well, I recently took a 12-day trip to the USA and I got back this morning. Before we left, we were trying to decide what to do with them. Nobody was really willing to take care of them, so we came up with the ingenious idea of coating the bath tub with sawdust and then setting up all of their things in there. We gave them a heaping mound of food and two bottles of water. Then we left.
I came back this morning expecting the worst. The good news was that they were both breathing. However, Chong (my hamster) didn't seem right. She didn't scurry around, she didn't come towards me, she didn't scurry up the tube, she didn't do anything. Instead, she just huddle in the corner, doubled over. The other one seems to be fine though. I'm not sure if she fell or if she got sick or anything. She won't eat, she won't drink... Hell, she can't even get back up if she falls on her side. :( And while she's dying before my very eyes, Cheech (bro's hamster) is trying to drag it about and shove it all over the place, apparently having no clue that Chong is seriously ill.
Any way, by the look of things, she won't be making it to tomorrow. So I'm sitting here with a beer in my hand, ready to dedicate this spill on my lap to Chong, a lass who will most likely be joining the likes of Cette Hamster's Picard up in the big hamster wheel in the sky whilst sipping from glass of gin with Harold the Fly.
