So, my friend's brother died the other day

One of my friends found out yesterday that a mate of her's from home (we are at uni atm) died a couple of nights ago. I really have no idea what to say to her; I've only known her a few weeks and never met the friend...

Very sad indeed.

Second what lee said, theres not a lot thats going to pop into your mind that hasn't been said to her. Let her know your sorry (which youve done by now) then be ready to listen. Your possition isnt as hard as hers but hard none the less, you have to be there but not over face her, and the same paradox in many situations.

My other advice to you is that I have seen deaths in close circles of friends or groups before, and thankfully, the groups recovered.
