Didn't the French invent milk that didn't taste like shit? Also some French chick with an ironical name discovered cancer I think, not to mention Freedom Fries.

Normally I wouldn't say anything, but I just had to. Who invents milk? I heard of mammals, insects, reptiles, birds, fish and even plants "producing" milk, but never inventing it.

The french were also responsible for many major inventions in our life such as the deisel engine, the stethoscope, electroscope, digital calculator, sewing machine, and the guys fav, the bakini.

Not to mention french is a part of our daily english language such as fiancé, chauffeur, valet, madam, gourmet, liaison, and idiot savant. Not to mantion many others.

I have no problem with ignorance to culture if your reasoning is justified. Is yours?

Oh and they also invented the Scuba suit.

I'm no milk expert (lactose intolerant) but i think he was talking about Louis Pasteur who invented Pasteurization.

Also, learn to take a joke.

That is all.

I thought he was referring to the fact that in france they drink raw milk and eat raw milk cheeses, because pasteurization, while removing microbes, supposedly makes milk taste awful in comparison. In fact I think a lot of countries stopped importing french cheese because of the raw-milk thing.

Funfact: résumé is not technically correct french. A "résumé" in french doesn't mean the papers you turn into an employer-that's called a "un CV" from the latin curriculum vitae or somesuch. It actually just means summary, so I can see how we got the word but it's still dumb.

Kindred I knew you quoted the wrong thing that's why I removed it when I replied to you

I dunno, i just thought it was pointless to be trying to make someone look dumb when clearly they were joking. I mean c'mon 75% of what gets posted here or said on IRC is just people having a good time. If this place was always serious i don't think we'd have so many loyal members.

This thread for instance was posted seriously, but half way into the first page it turned into a joke. Now we're arguing about the french and milk for fucks sake.

france has generally cool winters and mild summers, but mild winters and hot summers along the Mediterranean; occasional strong, cold, dry, north-to-northwesterly wind known as mistral.
