Which things are alright buying OEM? ?And which are better bought in a retail box?

For example, if i buy a retail athlon processor it comes with a heatsink and a fan, but if I buy OEM it comes with the processor only and i have to buy a seperate heatsink and fan but those are probably better than the stock one. ?Can someone suggest me which way to go with this? ?I've never buily a computer on my own, so i don't know much. ?But i know I want to keep this system quiet.

Also how many fans should i have for an athlon xp system? ?Not overclocked. ?The case comes with one case fan in the back, should i put another fan in the front, two in the front? ?Or should one be enough?

Here is what i have priced out so far, im keeping my old radeon, my hard drive(s) my old floppy and my old NIC.

CPU's can usually be bought OEM, and for the same price you can get a better heatsink + some arctic cooler.

Hm.. the Thermaltake Volcano 7 is what I was GOING to use, but it didn't fit my mobo. But it should fit yours. It works pretty well I've heard. Go to amdmb.com and look around. The Thermalright Ax-7 works very well too (I'm getting it soon) and fits almost every motherboard. It fits your board.

Check out amdmb.com for reviews of stuff :)
