live is just great isnt it?

Well we had a cactus jam last wednesday that ended very badly

we had alot of trouble getting through our first 2 songs and none of the recordings sounded good. We tried working on new stuff but our other guitarist kept bitching about us not using his riffs, and how when ever he does write one i like i change it.

i explained to him that all his riffs are either missing beats or have too many and our drummer wont be able to play along cause he plays them at random, and quite frankly alot of his riffs just sound like noise. He got all mad and started saying that all his freinds think they're good and what ever, and we explained it to him more so etc etc. We later tried "jamming" by jamming i mean one person starts something simple (intro, verse, chorus) and the other person just jams along, you know plays afew solos or what ever. We had alot of problems with that cause he wouldnt follow the drums, he was goin into the next riff 1 bar too early on 1 too late etc. and when we switched it around he just couldnt solo along to me, he was way off key. i was playing in E and he was in like B or something so it sounded like ass. At that point we pretty much realized that it wouldnt work with this guy (well we kinda new when he said he strickly wants to play black metal)

eventually he packed up his shit and left, me and john stayed behind and jammed afew more songs

before we left we found 2 roaches on the floor and broke them up and smoked them in his pipe, i felt like a crack head, but what ever its cactus.

we're already talking to a new guy about possibly jamming or starting a band, but nothing is for sure

i have afew pics from that night i think and i have files of some of daves riffs incase you guys think im lying about his shitty playing

I know what i you mean... it's definitely a pain in the butt to lead a band... I'm a lead guitarist, and I know how annoying it might be to have no musical chemistry with another bandmate. either way, i'm sure you'll find a better guitarist somewhere... My band plays Doom Metal, but we have the flexibility to do other stuff, and enjoy doing them... we sometimes even jazzify some of our heavy songs... one must keep an open mind when towards music.

i dont mind the really heavey stuff

it would be cool to do afew really heavey dark songs, but this guy couldnt keep the rhythms going, he was basically trying to play some he wasnt good enough to play yet.

he had just over a years playing experience, but he was really good.

We didnt realize he didnt have much drummer experience

he didnt know what bars were or chord names, he had trouble keeping in time and almost everytime he played the riffs they would be different.

i dont really wanna play a certain type of music, i just wanna get together with people that wanna make something different, but not noise...i hate hearing all these local toronto "grind hard power tough core waht ever the fuck" bands that all sound the same, with no lyrics, or a message ...just bs screaming, dont get me wrong screaming is cool, but not when its just total puke shit ass.,.sd.sfdfdf

yeah

a lot of this stuff is from a few years ago when we were just fucking around, but some of it is funny. these guys aren't trying to impress anybody and to give you an idea of how long it takes to make a song that isn't digital, it's about 10 minutes because danny (guitar guy, he has been taking classical lessons for a couple years now) normally forgets to hit record :darkstar:

mostly we've made ridiculous songs, and we're gonna record another one titled "Mantrain" in a while with a Southern rock feel.

anyway, some of it really is odd and worth checking out To Verb

if you hate the music, check out the Hamlet video. it's pretty funny.

Me and my drummer have a clear vision for this band

we know what our influences are and we know waht we want out forst 2 songs to sound like, all we ask is for the guitarist we have to play those 2 songs then he can right shit, thats all we want

i have an mp3's off waht the first song should sound like, theres like 10 solos in it, but the finallized version will only have 4 at the most

if anyone wants to give it a listen ill post it, or send it to you on irc
