g'day fellas.

this thread has been inspired by the cd i currently have on. it's fucking awesome, best album i've heard for ages. to save time in this thread, you have to let the world know about an album, or any other musically styled thing and give a short description of it.

the album i'm talking about is by a dude called mylo (some 24 year old scottish dude) and the album is called destroy rock and roll.

this album reminds me of such classics as daft punk's 'homework' and after only 2 full listens this is definitely the best album i've heard in years. the sound is a sorta clash of loads of weird samples and loops on a housey foundation. i just love everything. here's what the reviewer from the national awesome radio station said after listening:

Myles MacInnes is the 24 year old Scot, known as Mylo. After living in London, Paris and studying philosophy in Los Angeles, he returned to Scotland, bought a computer and in 2001 started working on his music. This is his debut album. He grew up on the remote Isle of Skye in Scotland and he only had a soft rock long-wave radio station to turn to as a youth. So his tastes and influences are varied ? Steely Dan and Toto through to Daft Punk and Chicken Lips. "To me, a good record is a good record, and that?s it." The current single is 'Musclecars' which X-Press-2 liked so much, they asked to remix for free.

i HIGHLY recommend this album to anyone that likes a bit of "electronic" music now and then, and it's groundbreaking, and sure to be one of the highlights for this year.

woot, i bet id love it, me and lee have identical taste in music.

lately i have been listening to a french band by the name of Phoenix. They have a very different sound, its a mixture of so many elements, mainly pop. very hard to describe, its easy listening and very laid back cool.

I'm currently a big "DJ GT" fan. He has a lof of weather-named mixes, perfect for chillin and relaxing. They are mixed so well, and pretty original at times.

ps. I just went to the Dance Parade in Rotterdam; a huge festivallike thingy. I saw Ferry Corsten, Johan Gielen, Michiel de High ;) and more. It was mucho fun~~
