I believe you are popular when people know you, but you dont really know them, when you go somewhere and people will say "hi" to you, because you are you, and well known. My frined thinks its when you have lots of friends and they all respect you....how do you define it?

that is a good definition.....usually the ppl are athletic too. ?also you may not have alot of friends close friends but ppl worship you. ?but its wierd like in my high school all the ppl that were popular arent really anymore, or atleast worshiped on by other ppl, and ppl just make their own groups. ?Its wierd though, in High School with the different groups of close friends, there seems to be some groups that are superior to others. ?Like an average group of people would be "above" a group of nerdy computer ppl like us. ?But then if the nerdy computer ppl are like spread out in a bunch of average groups then they arent like looked down on, its only when they are all concentrated together they are looked down on. ?hmmmmm High School social stuff is very complex and confusing.
anyone ever see that abc special about social behavior of ppl in school? ?it was very interesting.

This one, i don't completely agree with. A whore could be really popular, but that dosn't necessarily mean she gets respect, and has lots of friends. (not too sure about the "friends" bit.)
