Note: This thread is here to share your stories from September 11th. Any attempts at being funny or fucking around in this thread will be deleted. With that said I give you my story:

I woke up around 11am on September 11th. It was a bright, sunny, very beautiful day. I was home by myself, everyone else had gone out for the day. The day before I had gone in for a job interview and was told I'd get a call the next day. I never got the call.

I turned on the TV and the weather channel was on (the only channel my father ever watches). So I thought I'd wait for the local forecast while I eat my cereal. It was the regular national forecast, same thing as always. Then the weather person mentioned something about all flights being grounded due to the emergency. I didn't think too highly of it, but I switched to MSNBC to see if they'd have anything on this "emergency". The reception was shitty and I still had no real idea what they were talking about. At that time I switched the channel to CBS.

"What the fuck"

Every channel on TV was locked on New York. I couldn't believe my eyes. It's just hard to accept things like that at first. I had goose bumps as I watched tapes of planes flying into the WTC, the buildings collapsing, people running for their lives. Everything seemed so surreal. It was hard to believe such complete destruction was happening on such a beautiful day.

I live right next to Otis Air Force Base. The same base where fighter jets were dispatched from after the initial call of a hijacked plane. My father came home a little while later. He was attending his best friends funeral. :( It was being held at a cemetery on Otis. Everyone was forced to leave early as they evacuated the base. All throughout the day I heard loud rumbles as planes went overhead. I continued to watch TV for the remainder of the day. I had no internet access for the month of September due to recently moving, so I missed all of what went on in the internet scene.

I was in Hourghada, Egypt when it happened.

Flew home the day after. It was a bit scary flying home from the "arab"-parts of the world the day after.

I remember that day very well! After a whole summer of me and rudeh relaxing and enjoying ourselves we decided we would both get up early and both start looking for jobs. It was also very nice that day. As we were getting ready I turned on the TV and saw it all go down live. As you can guess our day was shot and I spent the rest of the day talking on IRC and watching TV.

I was in art class. It almost the end of class and our teacher got a phone call to turn the TV on. What we saw was the first tower on fire. Thats it. Then we saw the second plane hit the building. Everyone was scared as hell. My art teacher was pissed about. Then second period, we watched the tower collaspe. The first one happeend right when the bell rang, and the second one later during class. We were fucking like WTF. Everyone was saying how it looked like a movie. And in the halls after 2nd period, people were already making jokes about it. Kind of sad. But live on :(

I had just awakened and I came online early to see what was up and someone IMed me and he said "The World Trade Center got hit by an airplane." and I didn't believe him for a while. Then I turned on the TV and I was instantly upset by what I saw. The day went by.. my gay English teacher had us watch it the entire period, and that was about it.

I was laying on the bed, and Austin was sitting on the computer. I was flipping through channels and I saw that a plane had hit one of the WTC buildings!

I told Austin and we both thought it was funny because seriously, what piolet is stupid enough to hit a huge building??

Then I was watching it, and I saw the second plane hit! (live) Then I knew it wasn't a mistake, and it was no longer funny.

Then later in the day I got a headache from hearing about it.

The reason this year seems like it has gone by so fast is because every single day the news, tv shows, everything mentioned WTC and the incident. It never went away, so it seems like it was always there - thats why it went fast.

I may not seem sympathetic. Don't get mad at that fact. I'm not you.
